Sleepy induced kitty

I am so tired. This morning, my daughter went off to "school" (aka day care) to play with other kids and get discipline from people who actually know what the hell they are doing with kids.
So, I took the baby and went back to bed.
This is usually a losing proposition. The baby is not good at falling asleep. He needs a lot of intervention like rocking, jiggling, patting, walking, etc. Being in bed means he just screams. But, he was already asleep, so I thought I could get a few minutes of sleep. I put him in his bed next to my bed and tried to take a nap. The cat curled up with me.
Babies make a surprising amount of noise when they are sleeping. Every time my son would make a little noise, I would think that I had pulled him in to the bed with me and cuddled him. Except I didn't move. The next noise, I would realize I was cuddling the cat instead of the baby and I would think that I pulled the baby into bed with me again. This went on and on for an hour. Over and over I thought I was cuddling the baby only to realize it was the cat.
Finally, I actually managed to get the baby into the bed. Then, I was cuddling the cat and the baby. The baby drools. The cat sheds. I feel like I have been tarred and feathered only it is more itchy. I guess its time to get out of bed. The baby is getting cranky anyway. Plus, the cat isn't any too pleased.
