Mommy Car Essentials
Some days, I really start feeling like I am spending my life in the car with my kids. The car is the most frustrating place to be with kids. How do you discipline? Everything is "distracting". How do you kiss a boo boo?
There are some things that would really help me out as a mom in the car. I think they should be sold standard on any mommy-mobiles.
1. A net.
Performing without a net seems to be the mantra of motherhood, but driving without one is really frustrating. My kids constantly drop their toys, food, whatever, on the floor. My kids don't seem to be particularly clumsy, but they can't seem to hold on to things in the car. And without a net to catch those things, they holler about what they dropped. There's nothing I can do. I'm driving. But despite repeated reminders that this is the case, they still want me to pick it up. They need a net so that nothing can ever exceed arm's length.
2. The cone of silence
Which brings me to the noise/distraction. I need one of those windows that slides up in limos to give people privacy. I need the quiet while driving. Plus, then they would have to solve their own disputes. It's a win-win.
3. A driver
But, you know...if I am going to get a moment of quiet while driving, I will need a driver. So, I can take a nap.
