Hiding in my parents' basement

Saturday, September 26, 2009

Having my second baby has turned me into a teenager. I have basically moved into my parents' basement and I don't leave the house. All I need is a TV in my room and a bag of pot, and I would be the ultimate teenage loser.

You see, my new baby hates, HATES, HATES the car. It makes him very angry. And, since he is still young enough to rule every moment of my day, I try not to go in the car. In addition, with a new baby and a two-year-old, I find myself easily overwhelmed. So, I am staying with my parents to get some help.

My poor, wonderful husband had to drive five hours to spend the weekend getting yelled at by me and the baby. He will be happy to go home tomorrow and leave us here.

Sadly, cutting wheat and corn out of my diet seems to be helping the baby's disposition. He's not cry-free by any stretch of the imagination, but he is a much happier baby and likes to make little happy sounds regularly now. How cute! So, I'm not eating wheat and corn. Do you have any idea how many things contain wheat and corn?!? I'm going a little insane.

In other news, my daughter has finally discovered that she is a girl and that there is a whole world of clothing out there for her. She and my mother should really get along now. Mom can shop and Isis can play dress-up with the new things. I see this as a bad trend all around.

However, it leaves me free to sit in front of the television all day. I now dream in NCIS, a show I had never seen before I had the baby. Before he is 3-months-old, I expect to have seen every episode.
